Unique irrigation system

It is located in the Masafi area, 30 km away from the city of Fujairah, as it was considered a strategic location linking Fujairah with the rest of the Emirates.

The construction date of  Masafi fort dates back, as it is expected, to 1550 AD. It is built of mud, stones and palm sarooj. In addition it is located on a small and low hill. It is square-shaped castle and includes one circular tower located in its southwestern corner, the height of the remaining part is about 8.80 meters and the diameter of the inside is 5 meters.
